The Ultimate Lovina Dolphin & North Bali Tour Itinerary

The Ultimate Lovina Dolphin & North Bali Tour Itinerary

03:00 AM – Early Morning Hotel Pick-Up Your driver will pick you up directly from your hotel lobby (around 03:00 AM if you are staying in Ubud, or 02:30 AM if you are in South Bali like Kuta, Seminyak, or Nusa Dua). You can sleep in the air-conditioned car during the smooth, traffic-free night drive up to the northern coast.

05:45 AM – Arrival at Lovina Beach & Outrigger Boat Boarding

You will arrive at Lovina Beach just as the sky starts to turn a dark purple. Here, you will meet your local boat captain and board a traditional Balinese motorized outrigger boat (jukung).

  • 06:00 AM – Sunrise & Dolphin Watching: The captain will sail out into the calm, mirror-like ocean. As the sun rises over the horizon, pods of wild Spinner and Spotted Dolphins will begin to surface, leap, and play right alongside the boats.

  • Optional Add-on (Snorkeling): Many tours offer the option to jump into the crystal-clear water with a snorkel mask to watch the dolphins swim beneath you, or to explore the nearby coral reefs.

08:30 AM – Breakfast on the Beach

Head back to the shore of Lovina Beach. You can enjoy a simple, relaxing breakfast at a beachside cafe with hot Balinese coffee or tea to warm up after the ocean breeze.

09:30 AM – Stop 2: Banyumala Twin Waterfalls

On the drive back up the mountain ridge, you will stop at one of Bali's most beautiful hidden gems. Banyumala features two main curtains of water cascading down a lush, green ivy wall into a massive, clear natural swimming hole.

  • Atmosphere: Deeply peaceful, surrounded by untouched jungle.

  • Activities: It is highly recommended to take a refreshing dip in the cool mountain water.

12:00 PM – Stop 3: Wanagiri Hidden Hills (Twin Lake Viewpoint)

Stop at the high ridge overlooking Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan. The cool mountain breeze and misty atmosphere here are incredibly refreshing.

  • Signature Highlights: Panoramic lookouts over the two crater lakes.

  • Photoshoots: This area is famous for its creative wooden photo installations, such as giant bird nests, swings, and wooden boat bows jutting out over the valley.

01:00 PM – Lunch Overlooking the Highlands Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in the Bedugul area, offering great views of the mountain landscape or the lakeside.

02:30 PM – Stop 4: Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

Before heading all the way back to your hotel, stop at Bali's iconic "floating" temple on Lake Beratan. This 11-tiered scenic shrine looks as if it is floating on the water when the lake levels are high, creating a picture-perfect postcard view.

04:00 PM – Journey Back to Your Hotel Relax and take a nap in the car as your driver navigates back down south through the scenic winding roads.

06:00 PM – 06:30 PM – Hotel Drop-off Arrive back at your hotel safely, just in time for dinner.

Essential Travel Tips for This Tour:

  • What to Wear & Pack: Wear warm clothing or bring a jacket for the early morning boat ride and the chilly mountain stops. Pack a swimsuit, a change of dry clothes, a towel, sunscreen, and a waterproof bag for your phone/camera.

  • Prevent Motion Sickness: The mountain roads leading to and from North Bali are very winding. If you are prone to car sickness or sea sickness, it is a good idea to take motion sickness medication before the trip starts.

  • Dolphin Etiquette: These are 100% wild dolphins in their natural habitat. Respect nature by never throwing trash into the ocean or trying to feed them.
